" Jesus is your umbrella in the storm"
# OUT OF THE DARKNESS INTO THE LIGHT
Depression is not of God; He never meant for us to feel unworthy and devalued.
John 10:10
"The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance (to the full; till it overflows."
If you are experiencing depression, go to Jesus first – pray that He would send you to a doctor that would know how to treat you, whether with medication, therapy or both. Trust God to lead you. He can heal you out right or may choose to do it with a doctor. Trust that He is healing you and keep your eyes on Jesus.
Having said that, how we think and what we think affects our actions.
We all experience various degrees of depression at one time or another, depending on our circumstances. It is at this point that the decision we make to trust God totally or not will affect our thinking.
We must remember that Jesus is the Healer. The Blood shed on the cross is powerful and does heal; by His stripes we are healed.
One thing more to remember, is that we must trust His Will, His Way and His Timing!

RENEWING OF YOUR MIND
22 Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion;
23 And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],
24 And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.
5 For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and [a]pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and [b]seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.
Romans 12:2
2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
16 Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day.
MIND OF CHRIST SCRIPTURES
4 Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others.
5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]
6 Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [[a]possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not [b]think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped [c]or retained,
7 But stripped Himself [of all privileges and [d]rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.
7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that [a]tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall [b]garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].
